TOUR 12
FD - TREBIC ( TREBITSCH) & TELC(UNESCO)
The Jewish Quarter in Třebíč has been faithfully maintained in its original state since the late Middle Ages with twin houses, passages, the Jewish Town Hall, Rabbinate, Hospital, synagogues and a cemetery with about 3000 tombstones. This magnificently preserved Jewish Quarter is well worth discovering!
The tour continues to Telč, Moravia´s prettiest Renaissance town- things seem unchanged since the 1530s (which is why UNESCO made it a world heritage site). Telč is set on a peninsula and is surrounded by three ponds (fresh fish is a speciality of the town´s cafe menu). A city wall marks the base of the peninsula, while the Renaissance Chateau forms the other end. The view of the charming square surrounded by Renaissance houses, Gothic ramparts, gates and the chateau with rich decoration, carved and painted ceilings, frescoes and other splendid features take the visitor´s breath away.
