Česky Sternberk Castle was one of the strongest castles in medieval Bohemia and compares with the biggest royal castles of Europe. The oldest parts date from the first half of 13th century, the Late Gothic reconstruction gave the castle its present appearance, marked by the typical walls and bastions. The castle contains large collections of weapons, 17th century graphic art and period furniture. The castle was taken from the Sternberk family and returned in the restitution during 1992.
