TOUR 7
FD - HLUBOKA CHATEAU & CESKE BUDEJOVICE & LOMEC & HOLASOVICE
This tour gives you a chance to see the precious pearl of Southern Bohemia - Hluboká Castle. This originally Gothic royal castle, founded in the 13th century, got its present romantic appearance during the final rebuilding in the style of English-Gothic revival in the second half of the 19th century. The chateau contains the spectacular collections of furniture, tapestries, porcelain, paintings and historical weapons. We continue to the Southern Bohemian metropolis of České Budějovice with its square, the largest one in Central Europe, surrounded by Renaissance and Baroque houses. You'll have time to enjoy tasting the famous beer Budweiser that has been brewed here over the centuries. En route to České Budějovice we will visit the sacred place in Lomec, where a small church with a unique hanging altar (the only one in Europe after St. Peter´s Basilica in Rome) was built by the Lords of Buquoy 300 years ago. The nuns of Congregation of Grey sisters are taking care of the church.
We will make a stop in Holašovice-a typical traditional South Bohemian village which has its sights inscribed in the UNESCO List of World Cultural and Natural Heritage.
