FD - KARLOVY VARY & LIDICE
On the way to Karlovy Vary weŽll make a brief stop in Lidice (see this page) to see the memorial and museum of town destroyed in 1942. The full day tour out of Prague takes us to the world renowned spa - town of Karlovy Vary which was founded by the Bohemian king Charles IV in the 14th century. The town, situated in a winding river valley huddled between verdant hills, has an aristocratic feel, left over from the days when the nobility would spend time here taking a cure for gout, tuberculosis or indolence. The town is filled with beautiful parks, promenades and grand hotels. First we start with the glass exhibition at the Moser factory and afterwards we will walk around the city center and take a cable car to the Diana Heights as a high-light of this tour. You can taste 12 curative thermal mineral springs, admire the beauty of historic as well as modern colonnades and buy some of the typical souvenirs such as special wafers, Moser glass and porcelain, or the Becher herbs liqueur, the 13th spring of Karlovy Vary.
